Edward J. Gildea

President and Chief Executive Officer

With more than 20 years of success working for public and private, Fortune 250 and startup companies, including Quality Metric Incorporated, Grolier Incorporated and Kellogg Company, Mr. Gildea has been involved at the highest executive level in strategic planning, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, finance, corporate governance, negotiations, and domestic and international securities activities.

Further areas of global expertise include public disclosure, intellectual property, and new business development. Assignments have been varied and the consistent success of the teams directed by Mr. Gildea has proven the effectiveness of his skill to shareholders, board members, senior managers and other stakeholders. Mr. Gildea holds an AB from College of the Holy Cross and a JD from Suffolk University Law School.

David R. Allen

Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Administration

Until 2004, Mr. Allen was the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Financial Officer of Millbrook Press Inc., a publicly held publisher of children's books. Since 2004, Mr. Allen has acted as a management consultant and advisor to small public companies. Mr. Allen holds a B.S. and an M.S. from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts. Mr. Allen is a Certified Public Accountant.

Robert C. Bayliss

Vice President of Manufacturing

Mr. Bayliss is the former Founder and Principal of Bayliss Consulting Services, which provided operating efficiency strategies, merger and acquisition support, and asset sales assistance to a broad range of manufacturing and consumer product companies. Mr. Bayliss has over 20 years of manufacturing, operations, and management experience in the recycling and fertilizer industries, as well as extensive experience in the design and construction of recycling facilities. Mr. Bayliss' background includes implementing state-of-the-art technologies to enhance recycling operations.

David A. Flannery

Vice President of Marketing 

Mr. Flannery has provided consulting services to a number of clean technology and environmental products companies in the area of strategic and tactical market planning.  He was Vice President & General Manager of a business unit and Vice President, Sales & Marketing for a vertical market at Clean Harbors, Inc. Prior to joining Clean Harbors, Mr. Flannery held positions of Senior Product Manager and Group Product Manager at Waters Corporation where he managed brands, product portfolios, and teams of product managers in the consumables and aftermarket services businesses. Mr. Flannery started his marketing management career at Walden Book Company, Inc. where he managed a customer loyalty program. Mr. Flannery earned an MBA and a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from Yale University, and a B.A. degree from Holy Cross College.

Gerard H. Gould

Director of Sales

Mr. Gould brings over 15 years of organic retail sales experience to Converted Organics. He spent ten years as Sales Manager for Arett Sales Corporation, a premier distributor of lawn, garden and outdoor living supplies. While in this position, Mr. Gould more than doubled U.S. product sales, achieving the largest sales growth in the history of the company.

Prior to his tenure as Sales Manager, Mr. Gould was also a Sales Representative for Arett. Mr. Gould's background also includes tenures as Regional Manager of Home & Garden Showplace for global hardware cooperative True Value Corporation, Territorial Manager for bulb and perennial wholesaler K. Van Bourgondien Corporation, and New England Area Manager for Etera Corporation, a provider of branded perennials and e-commerce opportunities to independent garden centers.

Ellen P. O'Neil

Director of Finance & Accounting

Ms. O'Neil is a CPA whose emphasis is bringing improved profitability and cash flow to emerging businesses. In addition to running her own accounting business, Ms. O'Neil was Chief Financial Officer and Controller at Quality Metric Incorporated of Lincoln, Rhode Island and Finance Officer at The Massachusetts Government Land Bank in Boston. She has also held positions at The Boston Financial Group, Arthur Young & Company, and Coopers & Lybrand.

William A. Torello

Director of Product Research and Development

Mr. Torello, who holds three patents in organic fertilizers and biological control products and methodology, has over three decades of expertise in all facets of plant and agronomic product research, including the development and evaluation of organic fertilizers, organic amendments, turfgrass species and varieties, and organic pest control materials. He is a former Professor Emeritus in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he directed the university's turfgrass management, research, teaching and outreach programs.

Jack Walsdorf

Vice President of Waste Management

Mr. Walsdorf has many years of experience in the real estate industry and related activities. Prior to joining Converted Organics, he was responsible for the development of the New York, New Jersey & Pennsylvania real estate markets for Amerada Hess Corporation, a regional energy company. Mr. Walsdorf also held a similar position with the real estate outsource partner for the ExxonMobil Corporation. During his tenure on the ExxonMobil account, Mr. Walsdorf was responsible for the Metro New York City market. Mr. Walsdorf has served as Director of Acquisitions for a privately held real estate investment bank and consultant. Acting as Managing General Partner, he developed a condominium project in historically significant buildings. He has also served as First Vice-President and Managing Director at a large regional New York Stock Exchange member firm. Mr. Walsdorf has a degree in Finance from Southern Illinois University and an MBA from Loyola University of Chicago.
