More than 230 million tons of solid waste are produced in the United States each year. Recycling succeeds in preventing about 30 percent of these wastes from being dumped in a landfill or incinerated.
Converted Organics is dedicated to producing a valuable organic biostimulant (a natural fertilizing product used for organic farming, gardens and lawn & turf applications) through food waste recycling. We use proven, state-of-the-art technologies and create a product that helps farmers and gardeners grow healthier food crops, land owners grow safe beautiful lawns and itself improves environmental quality. Equally important, our recycling facilities have no negative environmental impacts on their host communities. In fact, we make it a point to ensure that our projects bring real benefits to the communities in which we work. We invite you to explore this site to learn more about Converted Organics and how our sound, environmentally friendly solution creates a valuable product while helping to solve the local challenge of organic waste management. |

Food wastes comprise the third largest solid waste category—more than 25 million tons per year—but in general food wastes are not recycled. Composting, a form of recycling, helps a little but is difficult to implement on a large scale. Less than two percent of food wastes in the US are managed through composting.
